To finish off our last day in New Orleans, we decided to visit some authentic seafood bars.
Acme Oyster Bar always has a line so we stopped by Felix’s, right in front of Acme’s.
Talk about good oysters….This one was a beast

My buddy Matt

Before leaving, a quick stop to Cafe Beignet

I’d have to say, Cafe Beignet’s Beignet were so much better than Cafe Du Mondes- So good, I forgot to talk a picture. So if you’re ever in New Orleans, visit Cafe Beignet and grab a beignet.
Leaving New Orleans, we took a quick Pit Stop at the Mississippi Welcome Center.

This is probably the coolest rest area i’ve ever stopped at…

The Lunar Lander monument that is visible from the highway

Under it

The best part has yet to come…As I was pulling out of the welcome center, a local peanut stand was on the other side of the road- basically in the middle of traffic!

We grabbed some cajun peanuts for the trip back home

Nothing like local foods…These were the best damn peanuts ever.
So if you ever decide to stop by Mississippi’s welcome center, there should be a peanut lady right in front of the exit of the welcome center. A nice, cheap way to snack on something delicious.
New Orleans is a sweet place everyone should visit once. I would describe it as the Las Vegas plus Los Angeles of the south. Bourbon Street is always fun to visit but I probably would not be able to handle it for more than a week. Other than that, this weekend is perfect. Hand grenades, seafood, tool, boobs and beads create the perfect weekend.
